Philosophy of Money

Money Important or Omnipotent

Ominipotence of Money in Our Lives TodayWe cannot deny the role and importance of money in our modern society, it is responsible for shaping every sphere of our life today, in a way which is unprecedented which has led me to believe that money isn’t only important its omnipotent.

Money is involved in everything that is happening or taking place, its a form of energy which transforms itself from one form to another, from one hand to another, from one profession to another.

Today role of money has changed rapidly from being important to omnipotent, it is more or less source and destination of almost everything taking place in modern societies.

The way in which money is influencing our life is dangerous, which can lead to a blind society.

Most of our modern problems can be attributed to money and the way it is being used and misused. In the name of economic development we are somewhere getting too much influenced by money, it is creating a number of problems whether its environment problem like global warming, wild life or social problems, health problems. Each and every problem is somewhere connected to money.

Impact of Monetization on Life

Monetizing Life, Selling Natural Convenience of Life for MoneyMonetizing or giving a value to everything in a specific way (i.e., in terms of money), treating everything as an economic resource, trying to increasing efficiency beyond naturally permissible limits are the reasons behind this huge monetization practice.

1. Nature is An Economic Resource : Nature is definitely a source and resource, whether we know it or we don’t, whether we accept it or we don’t but when we try to make an efficient use of natural resources, we actually use artificial techniques to get most out of it, which obviously results in something which is quantity but lacks quality which is available naturally.

2. Changing Lifestyle : Life is about living, it is not just an economic resource, every life cannot be measured in predefined terms. Everyone has his/her own pace of living and none of them are useless or inefficient ways. Forcing people to adapt and adopt to a predefined scale is giving birth to unnecessary stress in society, which often results in depression, mental illness.

3. Life isn’t A Product or Part of Product Life cycle: Look at eggs and the way we get it, milk and milk farms, agriculture, anything that we draw directly from nature. Everything has life and every life has emotions, wants, whether its a hen or a buffalo or a cow or tree bearing fruit, how are we treating them, are they only a part of a product life cycle, do they deserve something more. We can see the results in various forms, whether its a health problem, eco system, global warming or organic food. When a living being is treated as a machine the results aren’t natural, they are artificial, lacking natural integrity.

What If Money Was No Object

Can we imagine how will things work if money was no object. What will happen if money suddenly had no role in business, politics or jobs, what are the likely consequences. The consequences that we can imagine or think are actually the real motive behind the scene. Appearance and disappearance of money as an object will only shift the reality in foreground or background.

In modern world we have shifted money in the foreground while its actual place is in background. Money is an outcome, its a result of anything that we do either with interest or under stress, the only difference is that in first case a person enjoys the tasks which not only improves the quality of work but also helps spreads a pleasant feeling around for everyone to enjoy while on the other hand a task performed under stress or compulsion for money is likely to be of poor quality and will make the whole environment tense and stressful (modern life).

Philosophy of Money and Manifestation

Philosophy of Manifesting & Attracting Money

Today in this material world we know that there is only one solution to most of our problems and its money, huge disposable income which can fulfill all our needs and wants. That is why we see manifestation classes to attract more money more income based on the philosophy and law of attraction.
Philosophy of Manifestation and Attracting Money

May be it is good and even helpful to concentrate on money, creating more wealth but what are we doing, are we going towards peace, happiness or trying to get trapped in modern jungle of economics again. Accumulating money beyond our basic necessities, social necessities, family necessities is actually a sign of unrest in life. Money is actually a desire, when we make it stronger and stronger it will not net us stay calm it will motivate us to perform, to do something, to make it more mightier and thus we loose our balance in life. Our life is only limited to money making process, we call it career, a path towards achievements, a way to reach our cherished goals in life.

Making money isn’t a bad thing but if we do it at the cost of our life, working without taking care of our responsibilities, our family, even our society then its not good. We’ll loose something in life, which we won’t be able to get back with our material success after reaching our desired destination. Money is very powerful until you have it but once you have more then enough then you start realizing its weakness. It can only buy food but fails to create appetite. It is able to pay for expensive beds but fails in getting good night sleep.

Money is both our best friend and a dreaded enemy. If we are unable to control our needs and desires, unable to balance our life and work we can get entrapped in its vicious circle. I’m not against making money but I’ve myself noticed its influence, its addiction (also known as money addiction) and how it can influence a persons behavior. A person who has currently possessing enough money will not find peace in philosophy but economics. Natural foods will not satisfy his appetite but packaged foods, restaurants. He/she will not find peace at home but in hotels, clubs etc. He/she will not like to enjoy happiness but will like to buy objects for pleasure.

Most people actually fail to enjoy all the boons of life in chasing money, they do not get enough time to think, intro-inspect. They are part of a never ending process and when the time is up, they either face some health problem or family problem and some of them do not even end up having enough money to make later years of there life a bit easy, comfortable.

When we are fully involved in a business (called money making) we hardly get enough time to think, to look around, if it is working then we don’t even know the direction we are moving. It takes our whole time and efforts and if it happens to be a wrong direction, wrong way of living then we will not understand this until its all over, until we reach the end of the tunnel.  Most social problems, family problems, problems related to health, issues with environment degradation, mental illness are actually to some extent created by our blind chase for (virtual) development, social progress, raising living standards, economic wellness. I’m sometimes surprised by the market news they say that a region/nation is progressing when there is an increase in production or demand for industrial goods. They say that economy is progressing, its moving in positive path. Well, may be it is true to some extent but what about the products (whether they are really needed, will they really help or make a deteriorating situation grim). I think that most products that are produced and play a key role in economic figures of modern world are actually not required in that number of form, they are actually giving birth to other problems and thus giving birth to a new market for some new products to solve that problem and thus add one more figure to economic development.

Today our market forces (industries) are so powerful that they control almost everything, our governments, our societies, our health, global politics, foreign policies. We think, we are powerful, we have power to neglect anyone of them but we are misguided/misinformed. We only have a choice as a consumer, we only have power to choose any one of them (we cannot neglect all of them). We are today truly controlled by market forces, by media that depends on them, governments too are not financially independent they depend on taxes from these companies/industries, politicians are politicians (dealers in hope) and what about each one of us, we too are directly or indirectly dependent on them for our job, our business or anything. Even internet and web based jobs/freelancing is not free from the clutches of market forces. We are all now in some part of this vicious circle. There is no way out at least in regions which are so called well developed because they do not have any natural source to depend on, they cannot survive without it. Today sometimes it seems that money is the only omnipotent force in this globe.

Today our social welfare, environment program-mes, scientific research too depends on there funds nobody can say no to all of them, tell each one of them to only develop, produce or sell the goods/services that are actually helpful and required like everything provided by mother nature. We have actually entered an infinite loop, and if it is so then it will take some time to realize this and to correct all mistakes one after the other. I can feel these types of developments taking place, a similar feeling evolving and spreading at a slow pace. (it seems as if I’ve drifted away from main topic but I know they are all interconnected).

Philosophy of Work, Money & Happiness Part-III

Are we confused?

Philosophy of Work, Money & Happiness

Yes, we are. I don’t know about you but I know about myself. Like each one of us, I too have seen many faces of life, I too have tried many tricks to solve puzzle of life, and at some point I realized that I was trying to solve the puzzle with a wrong mindset which was in turn puzzling me.

When I worked for money, I set the type (quality) and amount (tasks) I will actually do to justify the amount of money I will get. I wasn’t able to perform at work because I wasn’t able to get the money I wished to get from the work. My unsatisfied mind produced unsatisfactory work. I tried to find a work which justified quality of my work with money and facilities I deserved, but I didn’t find any. I had failed on both fronts either earing money or working. Soon, I was frustrated and depressed with the situation.

I felt so much humiliated that I didn’t wanted to work for money anywhere, now I had changed my strategy, I only wished to work or do things that I was able to perform well. Money wasn’t a consideration and stand nowhere in the scene. I only choose to work where I had opportunity to put my best. I followed this strategy and later adopted it for life, because then I discovered that money automatically followed the work. I enjoyed the work and was absorbed in it and I was getting money for this fun. I was well rewarded, without asking. Rewards weren’t limited to money but much more then that which can’t be described in words some of them are happiness, satisfaction, respect.

We Work for Money, Spend Money to Work

Money and work are both double edged swords. We work to make money and then spend money to work. Today basic necessities aren’t that important to us, they get easily fulfilled, we spend money in other luxuries which don’t make much difference except that we burn our precious time with them (and accumulate fat because of sedentary lifestyle). When we are not working and have spare time, we try to reduce this spare time and money is something that we all use for this purpose. We may read, write, travel, eat, drink, watch and do what ever is possible and within our reach with the money we have in hand, to spend that extra time in extra activities. We burn money to search for an activity which can draw our attention to fullest. We like those activities which are able to draw most of our attention and then it is our hobby, our interest.

Time & Money Are The Basic Building Blocks of Modern Lifestyle

Relation between Modern Lifestyle, Time and Money

Today we use all sort of gadgets and tools to save time, still we are more busy then ever in history. Why is this happening? Now, we are looking for gadgets that are automated, which don’t need any intervention anywhere. Still we find that now we are more busy and have less time even for our own activities.

The problem is again in the time, that we have in hand, a lot of spare time. We have today designed our society and lifestyle in such a way that we have a ready collection of time burning gadgets and activities. Whenever we get some spare time, we spend it in one of them, then other, then another. Now, after spending time in these unscheduled activities or scheduled activities to relax, we find that we don’t have enough time for our important tasks, most of which are naturally required for health and wellness.

Time and Money scene in Developed and Undeveloped Societies

We can understand this with life in city ( a developed society) and village (undeveloped or less developed then cities). We can see there lifestyle, requirement of money and work. We can also compare there satisfaction, happiness and quality of life. I have a opinion that when we move from places which are undeveloped or under developed to places which are highly developed or modernized there is always an increased urgency for money, lack of time, more dissatisfaction and less happiness.
Today our life is more money oriented, most of our decisions and things we do have something to do with money. What we do and how we do are somewhere inspired by how much money we’ll make from them. How can we drive happiness from doing something which is not very interesting for us, except the fact that it does makes good money. We often overlook the natural law that actions are followed by reactions and whatever we do (whether with interest or not) is going to yield something (money in small or big quantity will always follow our work).
Even if we do not work for money, we’ll definitely make money from what we do. The only thing that will change is our views about our work, our willingness to do the work, resulting happiness from the work, which will lead to a positive experience and more success in life.
